Launched in 2006 by Boards.ie, Ireland’s largest community website, Adverts.ie has facilitated the sale or purchase of thousands of items across every type of category imaginable. Adverts.ie provides buyers and sellers alike with a unique, trusted community approach to buying and selling online.

There are two full time permanent positions available – a PHP Web Developer and a Customer Service representative:

PHP Developer:

Are you a problem solver? Are you passionate about developing for the web? If so then Adverts.ie is the place for you!

We are seeking a smart, proficient and passionate PHP Web Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have at least two year’s experience developing web-based applications using PHP/MySQL in an UNIX/Linux environment. You should also be proficient in front end development using XHTML/CSS/JavaScript and AJAX.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with management and the Adverts community to implement features and deliver systems according to project specifications
• Report and work with management in planning and implementing requested features or site improvements
• Handle all technical issues related to the website
• Liaise with Adverts.ie moderators and support team to resolve technical issues

Requirements:

• Minimum 2.1 BSc/MSc Computer Science/Computer Engineering (or related degree)
• First class knowledge and experience of web application development using PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript and AJAX
• An excellent ability to problem solve and to resolve technical issues
• Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a professional manner
• Experience using or moderating on Adverts.ie would be a distinct advantage

Customer Service representative:

We are now seeking a talented individual to join our team as Customer Support representative. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer services or a similar position that requires constant contact with the public and internal teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide customer service and support to Adverts.ie members
• Liaise with Adverts.ie moderators and technical team
• Handle all incoming email & phone queries from the general public
• Own customer issues to the point of resolution
• Consistently monitor site for quality of advert
• Keep Adverts.ie Scam Free
• Report to management on requested features or improvements
• Work with wider Adverts community to provide 100% buyer and seller satisfaction

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of adverts.ie, online commerce and the internet
• Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a professional manner
• An ability to problem solve and to resolve customer issues over email and phone
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Fluency in English both spoken and written is essential
• Experience using or moderating on Adverts.ie would be a distinct advantage
• An interest in the Internet and all things online in general
