There was a great reaction – and very quick response – to the news that John O’ Shea of Manchester United and the Republic of Ireland Soccer Team was available for a Q&A session today. Started at 16:50 on Friday, the thread had over 100 questions and 2,750 views at time of writing this blog.
I met with John today. He’s a really decent, amiable guy and though busy took every question with respect for the fans and the humour in which the questions were written.
He was over to promote the recent Carlsberg ‘Here We Go Again‘ poll where Facebook fans had shared their favourite emotional memories of supporting the boys in green.
The interview is below and you can follow the thread of comments and feedback in the soccer forum here.
My thanks to John for his time, to be soccer forum members for their questions and to WHPR for the opportunity.
John O’Shea is one of the most under-rated players in the Premiership. A couple of years ago, I used to joke with my son that John was “a future World Player Of The Year”. This was only a bit of a joke because I didn’t rate him that highly myself.
I really have to say though, he has developed over the past two years into a fine player and a first choice for Man. Utd. I’m looking forward to seeing how much more he can improve.
